Mind-Body Resources on Campus

Mindful Yoga for Mental Health is a FREE weekly drop-in yoga class sponsored by Student Health and Counseling. This is a slower yoga class is intended to help students feel better in their bodies and decrease overall stress. We encourage faculty and staff to attend as a means to encourage students to cultivate community, to support a sense of belonging, and to promote healthy wellbeing.

Mindful Yoga for Mental Health is offered FRIDAYS, 12:30-1:30 pm in the Schrader Dance Studio (above UPD). The first date for Fall 2026 semester yoga is Friday, September 11.

Mats and other props are available for use on loan during this class. Borrow props from the wooden cabinet outside of the studio (top of stairs, near Schrader gym). All bodies and abilities are welcome.

Here’s what some past attendees said were their favorite aspects of these yoga classes (from 2025-26 satisfaction surveys):

  • It’s at my own pace
  • How I can be present here and not have to think about anything else. I also feel like it is a good way to end my week and I feel rejuvenated. I haven’t been able to come to as many as I would have liked this semester, but these yoga classes really helped me through last semester.
  • I like that I can go into it and think of nothing else but my body and how it’s feeling. The outside world is of no consequence, and I can listen to what my physical being is trying to tell me.
  • It was very relaxing and a good break in my day. I also really enjoyed the rest period at the end of each class.
  • I loved that it was a relaxing way to end my week. It was a good space to release any negative thoughts about the previous week and lessen any stress i was feeling.

No experience is necessary! In addition to being a trauma-informed therapist and yoga instructor, I’m committed to offering accessible movement options for different bodies and abilities.
