Digital accessibility in higher education ensures that all students, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities, have equal access to learning materials, platforms, and campus technologies. When universities prioritize accessible design—such as providing captioned videos, screen-reader-compatible syllabi, and keyboard-navigable portals—they move beyond mere legal compliance to foster a truly inclusive academic environment. Ultimately, making digital spaces accessible removes institutional barriers, allowing every student the opportunity to succeed, independent of their physical or cognitive needs.

ºÚÁÏÍø is committed to providing equal access to its programs, services, and activities for individuals with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), NYS Technology Law, and Title II.

ºÚÁÏÍø is required to comply with the updated regulations for web accessibility by January 2027. This includes ensuring that all digital content—including all content for online classes, digital content for in-person courses, content from publishers, student-submitted content, third-party platforms, and social media channels—meet the specified technical standards.

The technical standard adopted by the NYS Technology Law regulations is the for web content and mobile apps. The for Title II highlights specific exceptions.
