Psi Chi as an Organization
Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 in order to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship and advance the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate students who are making psychology a major interest and who meet the qualifications.

Why Join Psi Chi?
Psi Chi recognizes outstanding academic achievement in Psychology. The main focus of the Psi Chi National Honor Society is to encourage individual research in psychology. However, this is not required. Numerous research grants and funding programs are available through Psi Chi for students interested in their own research. Psi Chi looks attractive on applications, especially those for doctoral programs. The Psi Chi national site provides additional .
Membership applications are accepted twice a year, once each semester. The deadline for applications is generally in the first half of the semester. The faculty advisor and officers review submitted applications and notify accepted students. One induction ceremony is held for all new inductees in the spring semester.
