As you prepare to start the next chapter of your life at 黑料网, we want to ensure that you have all the information and resources you need for a smooth transition.
Orientation Schedule
The on-campus New Student Orientation, for both first-year and transfer students will be hosted on:
- Friday, January 16 & Saturday, January 17
Our Orientation Leaders (OLs) will reach out to you and introduce themselves starting January 9, so be checking your email! OLs are an amazing resource for all things Geneseo!

January 2026 Orientation Schedule
| 8:30am-12:00pm | New Student Move-In Welcome to Geneseo! We are so happy you鈥檙e here with us. On-campus residents should be checking their email for information on our Spring 2026 Move-In such as when to show up, where to go and what to bring. | 1:00pm-1:45pm | Welcome Address and Reception We are thrilled to welcome you to the Geneseo community! Hear from some of our campus leaders as they share advice and encouragement for the start of your Geneseo experience. Students are welcome to bring two additional guests to the address and reception! An RSVP form will be sent to your Geneseo email! Following the reception, we invite families to say their goodbyes before departing. | MacVittie College Union Ballroom |
| 1:45pm-2:30pm | Orientation Group Time #1 Welcome to the first official Orientation event! You鈥檝e connected with your Orientation Leader (OL) via email. Now it鈥檚 time to meet and connect in-person with the members of your Orientation group for the first time! | MacVittie College Union Lounges |
| 2:15pm-3:00pm | Title IX Talks Students will participate in an interactive and engaging format to learn about community responsibility, healthy behaviors, and safe partying. Students will receive information on important policies, resources and support that pertain to Title IX and the student conduct process. | MCU Ballroom |
| 3:00pm-3:35pm | Design Your Geneseo Experience (Student Experience Breakout Sessions) One of the main goals of Orientation involves learning more about resources and discovering new experiences. This session will operate on a rotation schedule of two 15- minute sessions. Students will have the choice to attend two sessions that address their needs and interests, thus tailoring your experience. Orientation leaders will share session topics and room locations. | Various Locations |
| 3:35pm-4:15pm | Well-Being at Geneseo Learn about the mental health and wellness resources available on campus and how to seek support. | MCU Ballroom |
| 4:15pm-4:45pm | First Day Follow-Up Hope you鈥檙e enjoying your first day of orientation! We will use this time to wrap up our afternoon activities, review the schedule for the evening and next day, and respond to any questions! | MacVittie College Union Ballroom |
| 5:00pm-6:00pm | Dinner in Your Orientation Groups! Enjoy dinner with your Orientation group at Mary Jemison Dining Hall anytime between 5pm-6pm! Retail dollars and credit card are accepted. | Mary Jemison Dining Hall |
| 7:00pm | Geneseo Ice Knights Hockey Game Let鈥檚 cheer on our Ice Knights!For anyone who鈥檚 looking to go with a group, meet in the MCU Lobby at 6:30pm! | Ira S. Wilson Arena |

| 9:45am-10:45am | Academic Deep Dive Designed to assist first year and transfer students in their transition, take a deep dive into tips and tricks for your academic success. Please attend the session corresponding with your status. | Milne Library |
| 10:45am-11:45am | The Inside Scoop: Campus Resources & More! Hear from our Orientation Leaders (OL) and Student Orientation Coordinators (SOC) about the various resources and support services available to students! | Milne Library |
| 11:45am-12:30pm | Campus Tour Grab your class schedule and take a campus tour with our Orientation Leaders. Tours will be conducted in your orientation groups and leave from the Milne Library | Milne Library |
| 12:30pm-1:15pm | Lunch Grab some lunch in the Ballroom with your Orientation Leader and new friends! | MCU Ballroom |
| 1:15pm-2:00pm | Orientation Wrap-Up You鈥檝e completed New Student Orientation! We hope you have found the sessions the past two days helpful! If you were unable to attend any of the sessions, use this time to connect with the OLs to obtain the information. | MCU Ballroom |
| 2:00pm-4:00pm | Vision & Vibes New year, new school! Join us in making vision boards to reflect on the upcoming year! | CUPS |

| 2:00pm-4:00pm | Off-Campus Shopping Excursion Forget fabric sheets? Want to stock up on your favorite goodies? Let鈥檚 head off-campus for some afternoon shopping to the International Food Market and Target, in Henrietta, NY! Transportation will be provided! All interested students must use the provided transportation. Meet at the College Union Bus Loop at 1:45pm. | MCU Bus Loop |
