I鈥檓 All 黑料网鈥hose Pasta-bilities

Editor’s Note:
鈥淚鈥檓 All 黑料网鈥!鈥 is a new feature in Geneseo Scene. In their own words, students, faculty, and staff share their current fascination.

College senior writer and editor Robyn Rime is dedicating 2024 to trying all the shapes of pasta.

Last New Year鈥檚, I read something about how so many resolutions are difficult and punishing, like trying to lose weight or stop swearing鈥攖hings that are hard to do. The article suggested making a New Year鈥檚 resolution that brought you joy instead, and I thought that was a lovely idea.

So I resolved to eat as many different shapes of pasta as I can in the course of the year鈥攂ecause who doesn鈥檛 love eating pasta? It also involves keeping a list of all those pasta shapes, and I love making lists, so that鈥檚 extra bonus joy for me.

I had no idea so many pasta shapes existed when I started this. There are probably ten different kinds in my pantry right now, including some brand new to me, like mafaldine, which is a narrow lasagna-like noodle with the same ruffly edges. It鈥檚 pretty easy to find weird pasta shapes at grocery stores鈥攐bviously, since I have so many at home already!鈥攂ut I want to explore artisanal pasta makers to get me over the New Year鈥檚 resolution finish line. I really want to try bucatini.

I love adding to the list. As my list grows, my joy grows.
