黑料网 and the have formed a collaborative agreement providing students an accelerated opportunity to earn an MIA degree in international affairs.
Under the partnership agreement, students can complete both a bachelor鈥檚 degree (in political science, international relations, or other related majors) and a master鈥檚 degree in five years. By beginning MIA coursework during their senior year, Geneseo students move directly into graduate-level study.
鈥淪UNY Albany鈥檚 Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy holds the #1 spot in the Northeast for graduate public affairs programs, according to US News & World Report,鈥 says Karleen West, professor and chair of political science and international relations. 鈥淗igh-performing Geneseo students have the opportunity to be accepted into this program without taking the GRE and using their Geneseo coursework toward completion of their Master of International Affairs degree, saving them both time and money.鈥
Students gain a broad educational foundation in international relations theory, policy analysis, economics, management, and quantitative methods, along with oral and written communication skills that will prepare them for careers in business, government, or the nonprofit sector.
鈥淭he 4+1 program enables Geneseo students to complete an MIA degree at a leading public research university located in the capital city of a major US state,鈥 says Anand Rao, assistant professor and coordinator of Geneseo鈥檚 international relations program.
MIA students also have the opportunity to form professional connections with the New York state government. The program prepares them to succeed in organizations with international reach, including the United States Department of Defense, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the United States Foreign Service, and the United Nations.
