What is the Federal TEACH Grant?

The Federal TEACH Grant is a new financial aid option for students in majors that prepare them to become teachers in high need fields. In exchange for the grant, the student must meet a service obligation by teaching in one of these fields, and at a school that serves low-income students.

To qualify academically, you must:

Maintain a 3.25 GPA at Geneseo (freshmen must have earned a 3.25 GPA (87.5) in high school and then will have to maintain a 3.25 at Geneseo.)

Before deciding to request a TEACH Grant, you should carefully read the Department of Education’s , discuss the program with your parents, and refer any questions to the Financial Aid Office.
