Ed Gillin received his Ph.D. from Brown University. He began teaching at ºÚÁÏÍø in 1988. Gillin’s research and courses focus primarily on 19th-century and early 20th-century American prose and poetry, as well as 20th- and 21st-century American film. He has published essays in the volumes F. Scott Fitzgerald in Context,ÌýShort Story Criticism Vol. 113,ÌýF. Scott Fitzgerald in the Twenty-First Century, among others.

He currently serves as the Director of the  which, with the help and hard work of Geneseo students, began construction of a Walden-inspired cabin in the village of Geneseo in 2012.
