The Office of Field Experiences

From early field experience placements to student teaching, field experiences play a critical role in the development of teacher candidates. Teacher candidates in all programs have several field experience placements throughout the program, culminating with a full semester of student teaching. Field experience and student teaching placements provide opportunities for teacher candidates to apply the knowledge gained from their coursework and gain practical, authentic experience in a wide variety of classroom settings.

If you have been convicted of a felony or other criminal charge, your criminal history record may impede your ability to complete this program and/or become a NYS-certified teacher.
