Dr. Melanie A. Medeiros, Director
Melanie A. Medeiros received her Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Arizona's School of Anthropology and has been a member of the Geneseo faculty since 2014. In addition to teaching courses in Cultural and Medical Anthropology, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Black Studies and Women's and Gender Studies, Melanie is the Coordinator for the interdisciplinary Sociomedical Sciences major and minor. She has taken students on study abroad courses in Brazil and Cuba, and co-led a study away program in Arizona's U.S/Mexico borderlands.
Throughout her tenure at Geneseo, Melanie has worked to develop new courses and innovative programs that promote learning across disciplines and outside of the traditional classroom setting. Her work as the CIL Director is driven by her desire to lead strategic efforts to cultivate a liberal arts environment that ensures that all students have access to integrative, applied and transformational learning opportunities.
Giuseppina Scigliano, Administrative Assistant
Giuseppina joined the administrative support team in the Office of the Provost on March 13, 2025, and serves as as office manager, receptionist, and customer-service specialist in the Office of the Associate Provosts. She provides administrative support services to the Associate Provost for Assessment and Curriculum, the Associate Provost for Academic Success, the Associate Provost for Finance and Administration, and several other Academic Affairs leaders, including the directors of the Center for Digital Learning, Center for Integrative Learning, Office of Institutional Research, Office of Sponsored Research, Office of Sustainability, the Teaching & Learning Center, and the LIVES Program.
