Why it matters

Forage gives you the opportunity to explore different careers by offering job simulations designed by employers. You can explore different roles and develop your skills by working through self paced modules. You will experience similar tasks to those you would undertake during a traditional internship. Build real world skills and explore career paths through self-paced, online job simulations with Forage. Each project includes video instructions and materials created by the employer.

Instructions

1. Visit the Career Design Center’s Online Resources page.
2. Scroll down to Additional Job Resources section and click Forage.
3. Create a free account with your Geneseo email. 
4. Once logged onto Forage, click ‘Job Simulations’ on the top to see all the projects you are able to work on. You are able to narrow down your choices by industry, career interest, company or estimated time to complete. 
5. Select your job simulation and follow the instructions on the page. 

First-Year Milestones Submission Instructions

1. Complete the .
2. Indicate which job simulation you completed and which company created and endorsed the job simulation.
3. Upload your certificate indicating you have completed the job simulation.
4. Respond to the following reflection question. Please keep your response to about one paragraph, 100-200 words.
   What did you learn about the career or industry you explored, and what skills or insights will help you as you continue your career development?
5. Your submission will be reviewed, and you will receive a notification once the milestone has been approved.
