Geneseo Scholarships

黑料网 offers a variety of scholarships to support:

  • Incoming first-year students
  • Transfer students
  • Out-of-state students
  • International students
  • Current Geneseo students

We鈥檝e recently increased funding for merit-based scholarships to further recognize and reward academic achievement. All newly admitted students are automatically considered for merit scholarships at the time of admission鈥攏o separate application is required. Awards are based on a holistic review of academic performance, including GPA and rigor of coursework.

Geneseo is a test-optional institution. SAT and ACT scores are not considered when awarding merit-based scholarships.

While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is not required to receive institutional scholarships, we strongly encourage all students to apply. Additional funding opportunities may be available based on financial need.

Scholarships for First-Year Students

Presidential Scholarship

  • Awarded to first-year students at the time of acceptance based on academic core GPA and strength of program (such as AP, IB, and dual enrollment coursework)
  • Up to $2,500 per year based on academic merit
  • Up to an additional $2,500 per year may be awarded based on financial need, as determined by the
  • Must attend full-time (minimum of 12 credits/semester) and live on-campus (and incur housing charges)
  • Renewable for a total of 4-years of undergraduate studies as long as the student remains on-campus and continues to incur housing charges and attends full-time
  • No GPA requirement for renewal

International Baccalaureate Scholarship

Through the International Baccalaureate Scholarship, 黑料网 recognizes the rigorous academic preparation students have undertaken on their way to earn an IB diploma and grants them a one-time award of $1,000.


Multicultural Fellows Program Scholarship

Multicultural Fellows receive a substantial scholarship, which helps support their education at Geneseo. The Multicultural Fellows Scholars program recruits and strives to retain high-achieving students from historically disenfranchised backgrounds. Specifically, the program supports students from low-income communities who have been excluded from higher education opportunities.

  • First year students are awarded in early February
  • Award amount: $7,000 per year
  • Students are required to live on-campus
  • Funds are applied to on-campus room charges
  • Renewable for a total of 4-years of undergraduate studies as long as the student remains on-campus and attends full-time
  • No GPA requirement for renewal

Scholarships for Transfer Students

Geneseo Transfer Scholarship

  • Awarded based on the applicant's cumulative college transfer GPA (calculated by the admissions staff using all college credit-bearing coursework completed at the point of review). In order for transfer applicants to be considered for the Geneseo Transfer Scholarship, official college transcripts must be received for all credit-bearing coursework the student has taken prior to their intended entry term at Geneseo.
  • Award amounts up to $2,500 per year
  • Students must attend full-time (minimum of 12 credits/semester)
  • No GPA requirement for renewal
  • Renewable up to 3 years (depending on the number of credits transferred into Geneseo) as long as students remain full-time


PTK Scholarship for Transfers

  • Awarded to new transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Awarded at time of admission
  • Award amount: $1,500 per year, for non-tuition expenses
  • Students must attend full-time (minimum of 12 credits/semester)
  • Renewable for a total of 2 years as long students remain full-time
  • No GPA requirement for renewal

Corning Community College STEM Careers Pathway Scholarship for Transfers

Awarded to an incoming Corning Community College transfer students to complete their education at Geneseo in a STEM field. Four students will receive $2,000 per year for two years. Each student will receive a total of $4,000.

Scholarships for Out-of-State Students

Scholarship for Out-of-State Students

Presidential Scholarship (First-Year Students)
  • First-year, out-of-state students are awarded the Presidential Scholarship based on core GPA (calculated using grades in math, science, English, social studies, and foreign language) at the time of acceptance.
  • Award amounts up to $10,000 per year
  • Must attend full-time (minimum of 12 credits/semester)
  • Must live on-campus as funds will be applied to on-campus room charges
  • Renewable for a total of 4-years of undergraduate studies as long as the student remains on-campus and continues to incur housing charges and attends full-time
  • No GPA requirement for renewal

Scholarships for International Students

To be considered for these scholarships, please submit an application for admission and provide all required academic documents.


International Student Academic Merit Scholarship Awards

黑料网 offers tuition scholarships of up to $10,000 USD per year to international students at the time of admission. These awards are based on academic excellence, as demonstrated through transcripts, mark sheets, or national examination results.

No separate application is required. All international first-year and transfer applicants are automatically considered for these scholarships during the admissions review process.

Scholarship Highlights:

  • Awards up to $10,000 USD per year
  • Renewable for up to four years
  • Available to first-year and transfer international students

Priority Deadlines:

  • Fall semester: January 1
  • Spring semester: October 1 

Scholarships may still be awarded after these deadlines on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability.


International Baccalaureate Scholarship

Through the International Baccalaureate Scholarship, 黑料网 recognizes the rigorous academic preparation students have undertaken on their way to earn an IB diploma and grants them a one-time award of $1,000.


Ambassador Apartments World Citizen Scholarships for International Students

Two awards for the international students who best demonstrate awareness and understanding of what it means to be a world citizen. Endowed by Mr. Frank Csapo of the Ambassador Apartments. The Director of the International Student & Scholar Services office and the International Scholarship Committee choose the recipients.


VanArsdale Scholarships

One award is made each year to support an international student who demonstrates excellence in academics at Geneseo. Endowed by Mr. And Mrs. VanArsdale, the recipient is chosen by the Director of the International Student & Scholar Services office and the International Scholarship Committee.


Muriel A. Daniels International Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is supported by an endowment established by Robert and Marilyn Lyon in honor of Marilyn's mother, Muriel. It provides a scholarship to an outstanding 黑料网 international student with preference given to a Canadian student with a solid academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA) who demonstrates leadership, respect, loyalty and integrity.

Scholarships for Current Students

Current Geneseo students may apply for scholarships made available through the Geneseo Foundation by using , our online scholarship management system. Academic Works allows current students to view and apply for more than 120 Geneseo scholarships in one convenient location.

The 2025-26 scholarship application process is now closed. The 2026-27 scholarship application is scheduled to open on February 1, 2026.

Geneseo Community Scholarship

  • Awarded at the time of admission
  • Up to $2,500 per year based on academic merit
  • Up to an additional $2,000 per year may be awarded based on financial need, as determined by the
  • Renewable for a total of 4-years of undergraduate studies as long as the student lives on-campus (and continues to incur housing charges) and attends full-time (minimum of 12 credits/semester)
  • No GPA requirement for renewal

Federal, State, and SUNY Grants and Scholarships

New York State residents whose family household federal adjusted gross income is $125,000 or less and who plan to complete at least 30 credits per year are eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship, which allows them to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free.

Federal, NY State and SUNY grants are available and awarded based on financial need (this happens after you fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

AmeriCorps Scholarships

For AmeriCorps alumni, Geneseo will match the with another $1,000 in scholarship support.
