Completing these milestones during your first year will help you establish a strong foundation, develop confidence, and prepare for future opportunities. These activities are designed to help you tell your story, build your professional network, and become familiar with the career resources available at Geneseo.

Complete at least one of the following Professional Readiness milestones during your first year. 

• Draft a Resume using a template from the Career Design Center
  A resume is a living document that evolves throughout your college experience. Creating one now makes it easier to apply for internships, research opportunities, campus jobs, and leadership positions.
• Take a professional headshot via Iris Photobooth and add to your LinkedIn and Handshake profile聽
  A professional photo helps you present yourself confidently online and creates a positive first impression with employers and professional contacts.
• Activate a LinkedIn Account and complete all the LinkedIn essentials checklist on the Career Design Center Website
  LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional networking platform. Creating a complete profile helps you build your professional identity, connect with Geneseo alumni and employers, explore career paths, and discover internships, jobs, and networking opportunities.
• Complete a LinkedIn Learning Course/learning pathway
  Employers value candidates who continually build new skills. Completing a LinkedIn Learning course demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to professional growth while helping you develop career-ready competencies.
• Visit the Knights’ closet and pick out a professional outfit
  First impressions matter, and dressing professionally can boost your confidence and help you make a positive impression. The Knights’ Closet provides free professional attire for 黑料网 students to wear for interviews, career fairs, networking events, presentations, internships, and other professional opportunities.
